Looking for an experienced and qualified Home Builder/Contractor to construct a residential home on Pender Island. A proven track record of completing residential construction projects from start to finish, on time and on budget, is required for the successful candidate.
We need someone who will be organized, responsible, detail-oriented, a team player, and have great communication skills.
Job description
• Coordination and management of all phases of construction
• Obtain quotes and search out new suppliers
• Scheduling, supervising, and coordinating trades and subcontractors
• Ensuring compliance with all governing bodies (building codes & regulations)
• Maintaining site safety and quality control
• Managing project timelines and budget
• Coordinating inspections and occupancy requirements
• Providing regular updates and progress reports
Qualifications
• Must be licensed and eligible to operate in BC
• Must be registered and in good standing with BC Housing (Licensed Residential Builder)
• Demonstrated experience building custom residential homes
• Strong understanding of BC Building Code requirements and local permitting processes
• Ability to manage project schedules, subcontractors, inspections, and overall site operations
• Must carry appropriate liability insurance and WorkSafe BC coverage
• Ability and willingness to work on Pender Island and manage the logistics associated with island construction
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required
Knowledge & Experience
• Ability to provide a skilled, established construction crew
• Experience building homes on Gulf Islands or other remote/island locations
• Strong network of reliable subcontractors and suppliers
• Experience with high-quality custom finishes and residential construction
• Excellent communication and project management skills
