Knacker’s Yard is a well-established, busy, working professional traditional Celtic folk group: We play a lot (3-5 days a week, sometimes every day in the summer), we tour (we’re headed to the UK and Ireland in June for two weeks), we rehearse once a week, we have recorded 6 albums already since 2014 (and will be recording a new one this fall), we have an extensive repertoire, and we are looking for a guitarist and back-up vocalist who loves traditional Celtic and English folk music as much as we do! Think: The Dubliners, Planxty, The Pogues, The Clancy Brothers, The Chieftains... We are young, high-energy, fun and committed to the revival of authentic folk music, and we act as a collective: there is no one leader, pay is split evenly and decisions are made by all.
Availability, flexibility, commitment, love and knowledge of the music (the good stuff), skill and ability to sing back-ups (and maybe even lead on some songs) are all a priority. We are specifically looking for someone to fill in for our guitarist for a couple of shows over the summer (the first one would be on July 1st), but with the hope that we can find a full-time replacement to start in September.
