The NY8 was designed for musicians in New York who needed something small but powerful to accommodate the difficulty transporting larger cabinets. It uses an Eminence Beta 8CX, an 8" speaker designed to handle up to 225 watts at 8 ohms in a custom designed ported cabinet. (This is the version without a tweeter).
This is the third NY8 that I've owned. I bought this one to put together a component based system but it turned out that I didn't like the amp involved so I bout a new combo instead. I've already sold the other components so the cab is now an orphan for me with nothing to drive it.
