Hard to find Koch Pedaltone (first version PDT-4) for sale, $375. I bought it in 2002 after Randy Bachman tried out this unit at his home on Saltspring at the time. He liked it but decided to buy Koch’s three channel full amplifier instead, returned the Pedaltone to the store, and started officially endorsing Koch. The selling price for the Pedaltone at the time was $900 new. I got it for $800 because Bachman had used it. I still have the receipt.

I had seen the Koch Pedaltone mentioned in Guitar Player magazine in 2001, and at the time it was the only four channel overdrive/distortion “pedal” I knew of on the market, so when I found this one for sale, I got it. It can also be used as a preamp into a power amp section of a guitar amp.

It’s hand-built in the Netherlands, of high quality, and has an all-metal casing. It’s large and heavy for a “pedal”, and is actually a half-watt preamp with four 12AX7’s, and capable of many applications. Capable of high gain distortion. Weighs 6.6 lbs. Dimensions are 12” wide, 9.25” deep, 3.75” high. Come with it’s own 12 volt power adapter.

Oak Bay, cash only, no e-transfers.
