Fantastic price on my outstanding condition Kawai KG-2C. Mid-century-modern case in high quality modern maple finish has been lightly played all its life. The hammers and mechanics have been well maintained with particular attention paid to the action. Keytops are pristine and the soundboard is intact. It's like a baby grand with a few inches added for tonal depth.
The Kawai KG-2C is a well-regarded grand piano from the late 1970s, measuring 5'10", and is known for its rich, warm tone and responsive action. This model was part of Kawai’s popular KG series, which was highly acclaimed for its blend of quality and affordability. Its size makes it a great fit for homes, teaching studios, or smaller performance spaces. Pianos from this era are typically constructed with solid spruce soundboards and Kawai’s Ultra-Responsive Action, contributing to their smooth playability and balanced sound.
The latest version of this model, the RX2, would cost well over $30,000 new, and a KG-2C of this age and condition is valued at up to $10,000. Quality and value assured by Keith Allison of Allison Piano in Victoria.
