ABOUT US
Rock Island Painting is a locally owned painting company serving the Greater Victoria area, known for quality workmanship and a strong reputation with homeowners across the region. We're growing and looking for a reliable painter to join our crew for interior work and smaller exterior projects.
THE ROLE
You'll work as part of a crew handling residential interior painting and smaller-scale exterior jobs (trim, fences, small sections of siding/stucco, touch-ups, etc.). This isn't a solo role - you'll be supported by a lead hand/crew supervisor and working alongside other painters.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Prepping surfaces: sanding, patching, caulking, masking, and protecting floors/furniture
- Applying paint, stain, and finishes using brush, roller, and sprayer
- Interior work: walls, ceilings, trim, doors, cabinets
- Small exterior work: trim, fences, fascia, touch-ups, small siding/stucco sections
- Keeping job sites clean, organized, and client-ready at the end of each day
- Following crew leads' direction on schedule, product use, and technique
- Basic care and maintenance of tools and equipment
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Previous painting experience preferred (residential experience is a plus, but we'll consider strong general labour/trades backgrounds too)
- Comfortable with both interior and exterior work
- Reliable transportation to job sites around the Greater Victoria area
- Valid driver's license REQUIRED
- Able to work efficiently as part of a team and take direction well
- Attention to detail and pride in a clean finish
- Physically able to handle ladders, extended standing, kneeling, and reaching
