We are currently recruiting a Temporary Personal Support Worker for our female client who requires assistance with Activities of Daily Living. She is an independent, health-focused individual with a gentle, intuitive, methodical approach who values a professional yet warm, collaborative relationship with her PSW.
Someone compassionate, patient, flexible, with a calm presence, who shares her commitment to creating a positive, empowering atmosphere, free from rush or stress would be ideal.
Location: Victoria (Near Fisherman’s Wharf Park)
Shifts & Hours of Work:
-Temporary shifts - September 18th to October 3rd
-Sunday and Tuesday - 4:00PM to 7:00PM
-Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - 10:00AM to 12:00PM and 4:00PM to 7:00PM
-Potential opportunity for permanent shifts
Compensation: $23/hour
Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
-Medication assistance (reminders)
-Shower preparation, gathering items to prep, some post shower support
-Dressing assistance, helping to lay out what to wear, and assist when required
-Maintain a clean and organized home following a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule
-Meal preparation, cooking, and meal planning, especially healthy meals
-Assist with rehab
-Grocery and supply pick ups
Required Qualifications:
-Caregiver experience with private employer
-Support immune suppressed client by ensuring safety through cleanliness; gloves & masks as needed, good hand hygiene, staying home when symptomatic, following precautions after exposure to illness, and food safety practices
-Cultivate a positive relationship with the household cat, with the aim of assisting with care tasks such as nail trimming and brushing
-Class 5 DL with vehicle that can accommodate walker
-Non-smoker
Assets:
-First Aid and CPR training
-Personal Support Worker Certificate
-Food Safe Certificate
-Interest or experience in growing food and in alternative & complementary medicines
